Roland Avenue between Northern Parkway and Lake Avenue is the beautiful heart of North Roland Park. After years of neglect, many of our median trees are in poor health, and some are just stumps! Because of many other priorities, Baltimore City is challenged to provide routine maintenance for our trees. After much thought and discussion, the North Roland Park Improvement Association (NRPIA) Board concluded that we need to provide care to the median trees ourselves.
The total bill for long-overdue tree work (pruning, stump removal, fertilizing, and mulching) is a little over $14,000 (but more than half that expense won’t be repeated for 5 to 10 years).
Thanks to the ongoing donations of many North Roland Park neighbors to our tree project, we have begun the process of bringing our trees back to health.
Phase 1 (pruning and stump removal) was completed in May.
Phase 2 (fertilizing and mulching) was completed in July.
